Tottenham Prepare Improved Cody Gakpo Offer as Spurs Push to Complete Liverpool Transfer
Tottenham Hotspur are preparing an improved proposal for Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo as the north London club step up efforts to complete a deal for the Netherlands international.

Spurs have made Gakpo one of their leading attacking targets and are now expected to return with a better offer as they attempt to reach an agreement with Liverpool.

The 27-year-old has reportedly already agreed personal terms in principle with Tottenham on a contract that would keep him at the club until 2031. Reports of an agreement on the player's terms have emerged as negotiations between the two clubs continue.

Gakpo's future at Anfield has become increasingly uncertain during the summer, with Tottenham keen to take advantage of the situation. The Dutch forward has also reportedly made his desire to move to Spurs known to Liverpool's hierarchy.

Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi has identified a wide attacker as an important addition to his squad and has been a strong admirer of Gakpo. Spurs have been exploring several options in attack, with Gakpo among their preferred targets.

Liverpool, however, are unlikely to sanction the transfer without first addressing their own squad requirements. The club have been linked with Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, and reports indicate that a replacement could be required before Gakpo is allowed to leave.

The Dutchman still has four years remaining on his Liverpool contract, meaning the Premier League giants are in a strong negotiating position and are not under pressure to accept a low offer.

Tottenham's renewed bid therefore represents an important stage in the negotiations. With personal terms reportedly settled, the remaining challenge is for Spurs to convince Liverpool to agree to the transfer fee.

If the improved proposal is accepted, Gakpo could become another major attacking addition to De Zerbi's Tottenham rebuild and one of the most significant moves of the Premier League transfer window.
