Tottenham agree £85m deal to sign Savinho from Manchester City

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a deal to bring Manchester City winger Savinho to north London, with the transfer set to become one of the biggest moves of the summer.

The agreement is understood to be worth an initial £75 million, with a further £10 million available in performance-related add-ons. Savinho is expected to undergo a medical before the transfer is formally completed.

The 22-year-old Brazilian has been a long-term target for Spurs and is now poised to become a key addition to manager Roberto De Zerbi's squad.

Savinho joined Manchester City from Troyes in 2024 and has since made 84 appearances for the club, contributing seven goals and 16 assists. However, he has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter amid strong competition for places.

The move would represent a major investment from Tottenham as De Zerbi continues to reshape his squad. Spurs have already spent more than £200 million on first-team additions this summer, with the arrival of Savinho set to push their spending even higher.

For Manchester City, the deal could become the club's most lucrative player sale, surpassing the £81.5 million transfer of Julián Álvarez to Atlético Madrid in 2024 if the full £85 million package is achieved.

Tottenham are also continuing discussions with Manchester City over a potential deal for Egypt international Omar Marmoush. A move for both players would significantly strengthen De Zerbi's attacking options ahead of the new campaign.

Savinho's impending arrival is another major statement of intent from Tottenham as they look to build a squad capable of competing at the highest level. The transfer remains subject to the completion of the medical and final formalities.
