Brentford Reach Verbal Agreement to Sign El Hadji Malick Diouf

The agreement, reported by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, is understood to include an initial £35 million guaranteed fee plus performance-related add-ons that could take the total value to £40 million. Formal documents are yet to be signed, meaning the transfer is not officially complete.

Diouf is reportedly keen on Brentford's project and has given his approval to the move, paving the way for the two London clubs to finalise the remaining formalities.

Diouf set for Premier League return

The 21-year-old left-back joined West Ham from Slavia Prague last summer for a reported £19 million and quickly established himself in the Premier League. He made 32 league appearances during his debut campaign and contributed five assists.

His performances attracted interest from several clubs following West Ham's relegation to the Championship, with Brentford maintaining their pursuit despite having previous offers rejected.

The proposed £40 million package would represent a significant profit for West Ham after just one season, although the Hammers will now need to consider how to replace one of their key defensive players.
